Carolyn’s Favorite Apple Crisp

  • 8-10 apples
  • 1/2 C white sugar
  • 2 T flour
  • Nuts (optional)
  • 3/4 C oatmeal
  • 1/2 t cinnamon
  • 1/4 t salt
  • 3/4 C flour
  • 1/2 C brown sugar
  • 1/2 C butter

Peel and slice apples. Mix with sugar and flour. Place in buttered coffee cake tin or 8×8 baking dish. Mix together the remaining ingredients. Use a pastry cutter or two knives to break butter into small pieces. Do not blend. Put on top of apples.

Bake 375F 30-45 min.

One Pan Granola

  • 12 C total: oatmeal, wheat germ, bran flakes, whole wheat flour, nonfat dry milk powder, coconut, seeds, nuts
  • 1/2 C oil or 1 stick butter
  • 1/2 C total: honey, molasses, syrup, brown sugar
  • vanilla extract
  • salt
  • cinnamon

Bake 250F 2 hours, stirring every 20 minutes. When cool, add dry fruits.
